Our Certified Nurse Midwife
Debra L. Stealey, CNM
Debra Stealey received her Bachelor of Science Nursing in 1979 from Mankato State University and her Master of Science in 1992 from the University of Minnesota. She is certified by the Minnesota Board of Nursing, the American College of Nurse-Midwives, and the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners..
When she speaks of her practice philosophy, she says, "Nurse midwifery allows me an opportunity to promote and support healthful behaviors of women as they cycle through various stages of their lives. I have the unique opportunity to educate and support the pregnant woman and her family by providing prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care. Equally important, is my role to provide preventive gynecological health care and family planning for women from adolescence through menopause. My practice emphasizes educating patients to enable them to be knowledgeable participants and decision makers in their own health care."
Debra's professional associations include MNA, ACNM, IBCLC, and is an Educational Affiliate of ACOG. She has provided care for women in the Twin Cities for more than 20 years. In her free time she enjoys golf, exercise, and needlework. Debra lives in Edina with her husband Tom and their two felines.
